Is It Worth It? (worthyourhours.com and the Is It Worth It? newsletter)
Effective date: October 16, 2026
This policy explains, in plain English, what information we collect when you visit worthyourhours.com or subscribe to our newsletter, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. "We," "us," and "our" mean Is It Worth It?. Questions? Email us at [email protected].
The short version
- We collect your email address when you subscribe, plus basic engagement data (such as whether you open an email or click a link) so we can tell what's useful.
- Our newsletter runs on beehiiv, and our site is hosted on Cloudflare.
- We don't use affiliate links right now. If that changes, we'll label them on the page.
- We never sell, rent, or share subscriber emails with sponsors, launch partners, or anyone else for their marketing.
- You can unsubscribe in one click from any email, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time.
1. What we collect
When you subscribe: your email address, entered through a beehiiv signup form on our site or at iiwi.beehiiv.com.
When you read our emails: beehiiv records engagement data, such as whether an email was opened (using a small tracking pixel), which links were clicked, and when you unsubscribe. Open counts aren't perfect; some email apps and security tools load images automatically.
When you visit our site: our host, Cloudflare, processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser and device details, and the pages you request (see section 4).
If you contact us or apply to be a launch partner or sponsor: whatever you choose to send us, such as your name, company, website, email address, and ad creative.
We don't ask for sensitive information, and we don't need your name to send you the newsletter.
2. How we use it
- To send you the newsletter you signed up for, and occasional emails about it.
- To understand which issues, games, and links readers find useful (using totals and trends, not to profile you).
- To keep the site and newsletter secure and working, and to prevent spam and abuse.
- To answer your messages and review launch-partner and sponsor applications.
- To meet legal obligations.
3. beehiiv (our email provider)
Our newsletter is hosted and sent by beehiiv, Inc. beehiiv stores our subscriber list and delivers our emails, and processes your email address and engagement data on our behalf. beehiiv also collects some information on its own as described in its policy. Read beehiiv's Privacy Policy.
Scripts the signup form loads: When a page shows the beehiiv signup form, the form may load third-party scripts that beehiiv uses to run it. These include Google Tag Manager (a Google tool that loads measurement code), an anti-bot check that helps block fake signups, and Cloudflare analytics. These scripts may collect your IP address, browser and device details, and how you interact with the form, and some may set cookies. They're run by beehiiv and those providers under their own policies, including Google's Privacy Policy. You can block them with your browser's privacy settings or a content blocker, but the signup form may not work if you do. You can still subscribe at iiwi.beehiiv.com.
4. Cloudflare (hosting, security, and analytics)
worthyourhours.com is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and block attacks, Cloudflare processes information about visits, including IP addresses and other traffic data, and keeps limited logs for security and performance.
If we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, it is cookieless: Cloudflare says it does not use cookies or local storage to collect usage metrics and does not "fingerprint" visitors by IP address or browser details. We see totals such as page views and referring sites, not who you are.
Read Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
5. Affiliate links and cookies
We don't use affiliate links right now. If that changes, we'll label them on the page. Money never decides our verdicts or which games we pick, and we link the best price we found when we checked.
If you click an affiliate link, the store you visit may use cookies or similar technology to credit the referral to us. Its handling of your data is covered by that store's own privacy policy.
These cookies are set by the store when you click through to them, not by worthyourhours.com. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so won't stop the site from working.
6. Launch partners and sponsors
We feature free launch partners and, later, paid sponsors. Every sponsored placement is clearly labeled "Sponsored" or "#ad." Sponsors and partners never get our subscriber list or your email address. We may share only overall statistics with them, such as total subscribers, average open rate, or total clicks on their link. We never sell or share subscriber emails.
7. Who else sees your information
We share personal information only:
- with service providers that help us run the site and newsletter (such as beehiiv and Cloudflare), for that purpose only;
- if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our readers, or the public; or
- with a new owner if Is It Worth It? is ever sold or transferred, in which case this policy (or one at least as protective) will continue to apply to your information.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8. How to unsubscribe
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Click it and you're off the list. We'll stop sending within 10 business days at the latest; usually it's immediate. You can also email [email protected] and ask us to remove you.
9. How to request access or deletion
Email [email protected] from the address you subscribed with (so we can confirm it's you) and tell us what you'd like: a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. We'll delete your subscriber record and engagement data from beehiiv, keeping only what we must keep by law (for example, a note that you asked not to be emailed, so we don't add you again by mistake). We aim to respond within 30 days.
10. How long we keep information
We keep your email address and engagement data while you're subscribed. After you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we remove it or keep only what's needed for legal or anti-spam reasons. Cloudflare and beehiiv keep their own logs for limited periods as described in their policies.
11. Children under 13
Is It Worth It? is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has subscribed, email us and we'll delete their information.
12. Your rights
Email (CAN-SPAM): Our emails identify who they're from, use honest subject lines, label ads, include a working unsubscribe link and our postal address, and we honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.
California and similar U.S. state laws (CCPA-style rights): Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing." We don't sell or share personal information for advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of, but you can still contact us. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
EU/UK and similar laws (GDPR-style rights): If you're in the EU, UK, or a place with similar laws, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing). We rely on your consent to send the newsletter and on our legitimate interests to run and secure the site. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected].
13. Security
We use reputable providers and keep access to subscriber data limited to the people who run the newsletter. No online service is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, such as a new use of your email address, we'll tell subscribers in the newsletter before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site or stay subscribed after a change means the updated policy applies.
